You started 2025 with a plan. Maybe even a fresh planner, a word for the year, and a shiny new vision board that looked really good in January light.
Let’s be honest — halfway through the year is about when the glitter from our January goals starts to wear off. The to-do lists feel heavier, the vision board might be buried under a stack of laundry, and that word you chose for the year? It’s probably whispering instead of shouting.
If you’re in that weird place between "What happened to my goals?" and "Is it too late to fix this?" — this post is for you.
Here’s what we’re going to do:
Get clear on what still matters (and what doesn’t)
Let go of the guilt and the pressure to be "caught up"
Realign with what God is actually calling you to do now
And map out a simpler, lighter way to finish this year strong
So how do we actually do that without scrapping the whole year or spiraling into guilt? I use a process I call the 3 R’s of a Mid-Year Reset — and it’s helped me (and so many of the women I coach) find clarity right in the messy middle. Let’s walk through it together.
Start by checking in with your original intentions. What did you say this year was going to be about? Did you choose a word, a theme, or a few clear goals?
Now ask yourself: does that still fit?
Sometimes we keep chasing goals because we wrote them down, not because they still serve us. That’s where we need to pause and ask: "Is this still aligned with who I am and what God is doing in my life right now?"
Midlife is a powerful season for reflection. You’ve gained the wisdom to pivot without guilt. Use it.
Now let’s talk about the goals that do still matter — the ones you’ve buried under busyness, fear, or perfectionism.
For me, that’s been writing my book. The one I’ve felt called to write for almost a decade. I started 2025 with the word "SPEAK" as my focus. I thought I was living it out through my livestreams — and in some ways, I was. But deep down, I knew there was more.
God wasn’t just calling me to speak on video. He was asking me to speak on the page.
And that dream? Still matters. Still burns. And it’s time I stop waiting for the perfect conditions and start taking obedient steps.
So what about you?
What’s the goal you keep thinking about but not starting?
What would happen if you stopped waiting to get it right and just took the next small step?
Here’s the hardest part. Letting go.
Letting go of the goal that no longer fits. Letting go of what you only started out of pressure, comparison, or a "should." Letting go of guilt for not following through.
This is where we talk about sunk cost bias — the idea that you have to keep going with something just because you’ve already put time, money, or energy into it.
Friend, listen: just because you started it doesn’t mean you’re called to finish it.
If the cost to continue is your peace, your energy, or your purpose — it’s okay to release it.
That’s not quitting. That’s wisdom.
Midlife is the perfect time to stop chasing goals that were never yours to begin with — and start following what feels aligned with your values, your energy, and your season.
If something doesn’t fit anymore, you don’t need to force it. You’re allowed to pivot, change your mind, and start fresh — even in July.
You don’t need a new planner. You need a fresh perspective.
I created a simple workbook to walk you through that. Here are the main questions to ask yourself:
What did you start the year believing in?
What still matters?
What are you carrying that no longer fits?
Where is God asking you to shift?

This week, I’ll be journaling through these questions right alongside you. Because God is stirring something up — and I don’t want to miss it.
I don’t want to be like the brides in the Bible who didn’t have oil in their lamps when the groom came. I want to be ready. I want to finish strong. And I want you to finish strong too.
So give yourself the gift of a reset this week. You’re not starting from scratch — you’re starting with YOUR MIDLIFE ADVANTAGE: wisdom, experience, and faith.
Let’s finish 2025 with intention. Let’s make it beautiful together.
I’d love to ear how it goes!
